In line with the immigration topic tonight, another suggested book is Pier 21 - The Gateway that Changed Canada by Mitic and LeBlanc.
It details the immigration through Halifax during the 1920-1960's
Movie suggestion: It is not in general release yet but the movie The 12th Man is one to watch for if you enjoy true stories of survival. It may be in subtitle mode but it is well worth the time.
Both the movie Churchill and the movie The Darkest Hour were praised and suggested for anyone interested in D -Day. Ted will supply the name of the book he is reading on the Canadian involvement on those June days of 1944.
